29 & Still Going!

So I am a year older now as of yesterday, and honestly I don’t feel any different… however the countdown has begun to the big Three-O.  I got some great gifts from my wife, sister, parents, and in-laws.  Ray-Ban Sunglasses My wife picked me up a nice coat and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses (as seen on the left).  I got some books from Barnes and Noble thanks to a gift card from my sister and a cool little Samsung MP3 player from my in-laws.  My parents gave me some cash to put in the jar.  The famous jar is adding up with the cash now, the jar’s goal… a 42+ inch flat screen HDTV!  Now that I am about a third away from the TV, I have started to read up on the technology.  When I was younger I used to be up on all of the technology like TVs, DVDs, CPUs, and especially video cards.  However I stopped following that and now I have to catch up.  I want to make sure I get the best bang for the buck.  Consumer Reports has a great buying guide, you can click here to read it.  I would like an LCD or plasma flat panel but the best bang for the buck might end up in the CRT or LCD projection.  I know they are bulkier, but the quality is about the same and the price is a lot lower.

I leave you on this… "Thanks to everyone for a great birthday!"

VW Comercial"Three new GTI commercials are now airing with a simple theme: "Un-pimp your auto!" An obvious parody of the hit TV series, "Pimp My Ride," the ads feature the German engineers at VW smashing "pimped"economy cars, and replacing them with the new GTI."  That snip-it is from LeftLaneNews.com.

To be honest... they are creepy, weird, and absolutely hysterical.  Needless to say, I love them!  You should recognize the actor as Peter Stormare from "The Big Lebowski" (one of my personal favs), "Armageddon" (that movie = crap) or as the voice of Isair in the game Forgotten Realms: Icewind Dale II (okay maybe you won't).

Click here to go to LeftLaneNews.com and watch the movies.

XBox 360 Hard DriveAlso in today's news from yesterday... I walked into a FYE at the Milford Post Mall with my buddy Mike during lunch and asked the question I have been asking for the last few weeks to any and all stores that sell the XBox 360... "do you have the hard drive" (as seen on the left)?  Amazingly they did!  In fact they had two that arrived at 10:30 AM that morning.  So I bought it and hooked that sucker up last night.  This was followed by a ton of downloading of stuff to my 360.  I even purcahsed $6 in gamer credits so I could download the NY Giants theme and gamer logo (you can see my new gamer logo by clicking here).  I, once again, and a very happy man (actually I have been a very happy man for a long time... so strike that last comment).

I leave you on this... "Time to un-pimp the auto".

On Call and the GUG

So I have almost survived my frist week of being primary on call at my new job .  It was pretty intense, but at least I was only called once around 1 AM.  The rest was during normal business hours.  I still have this weekend on call so I hope things go well (knock on wood, or fake wood which is all I have around me as I write this).  Next week I am secondary, which won't be too bad at all... only two scheduled early days.

Grown Up Gamers I joined a online site called the GUG which stands for Grown Up Gamers.  The people seem pretty cool and I have a fw buddys that are members (Mike and Dave). The GUG will be my new home for online XBOX 360 football league play with Madden 06 .  Right now they are wrapping up season one, in fact they are in the playoffs, and I will be jumping into season two.  It is a pretty wide open league rules wise and everyone is a SIM player too... which is good because I hate punks who run up the score.   I just find it funny that I am a member of something that has the title "Grown Up" and "Gamers"... is that an oxymoron or am I getting old?  My 29th birthday is about nine days away too... wierd.

I recommend checking out the GUG if you are a XBOX or 360 gamer.  they have a lot of great leagues and clans such as...

  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Hockey

It is pretty sports centric, but fun all the same.

Run Tiki Run!Well I got Tiki running in Madden 06 on my XBox 360.  In fact I am creating a new section just for my Madden scores.  I played my buddy Mike (AKA TeenGirlSquad) on XBox live.  Here are some quick results.

  • NYG 28 vs. NYJ 14 (TGS was the Jets)
  • NYG 41 vs. DET 7 (TGS was the Lions)

Needless to say in the second game I owned him.  I am getting the stats from him soon (in Madden 06 you can have the game stats mailed to you).  I will post them on to my XBox live section of MySpaceBerg.

Oh yeah I forgot, I added a XBox Live section!

In other news I added few more downloads to the download section including stuff from Matt and Colynda's wedding and the Terry Tate movies.  Enjoy!

I love my wife!

XBox 360 My wife owns, let me tell you why.  Today I go to work and a guy I work with named Phil walks over to my cube and tells me how he got an XBox360 from Target today.  He bought it because he thought someone would want it and they are so hard to get (he already has one)... so he offered it to me.  I call Honore, she says yes (I owe her big time), and now I have a XBox360.  It is the core system bundle so no games or hard disk but that doesn’t matter.  I will sell my old XBox to Game Stop or EB along with most of my games for store credit and get the hard disk and Madden 2006 NextGen (now I have to find a new football league, or bring back the BRFL).  I am sooooo pumped up!  I plan on keeping both Halos (Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 Special Edition) and Need For Speed: Underground 2 from my old system.   The rest of the games like DOA Beach Volleyball and Ninja Gaiden are going!  The only game I am selling that I wish was backwards compatible was Soul Calibur II, it hurts to get rid of that game.  I always like to keep a football, racing, and fighting game in stock at all times for when a friend or two comes over. Those are the best party games.  Hopefully SC III which is out for PS2 will be ported to the 360 in the near future.

I also in the last few days made a few more MySpaceBerg updates/improvements as well.

  • Added first wedding dance to the Download section (both Hi and Low res).
  • added 8 new images to the random image component bringing the total to 20.

Did I mention I loved my wife?  Honore, I love you!
