In the meantime!

While I continue to scan our wedding album I received four photos from my buddy Will Booker.  The photos were taken at Harborside in Stratford, CT during a former Schick IT gathering.  They have been loaded into the “Misc Photos” section of the gallery so check them out.

Quick note about Will Booker... his brother Ulish (ex-Michigan State Spartan) is currently on the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad as offensive tackle.  You can check him out on SI.com by clicking here.

60+ photos added to the Gallery

After getting the new power cord for my scanner I busted out one of our wedding photo albums that housed all of our table camera shots.  Four hours later of scanning 3 photos at a time, cutting, pasting, cropping, and rotating I upload 44 images to the "Our Wedding: Table & Guest Photos" section of the gallery.  44 images is roughly 75% of our table shots, the remaining 25% didn't make the cut mainly because of poor quality.  In addition  to those I uploaded a bunch of stuff into the “Misc Photos” section as well, including ten images of my trip to Vegas almost a year ago.

In other MySpaceBerg news, I am messing around with the MambleFish system that can be built into Mambo.  MambleFish allows content and menus to be translated into other languages with a click of a button.  Those Douglas Adams fans should pick up the loose reference to a Babblefish, very loose reference.  I hope to be able to get the translator working sometime this week so Honore’s French family will be able to enjoy the site.  Quick point, I am not having much luck with Mamblefish so far so there is a good chance that I will fail or give up.

Content just pouring in!

Okay, so with a little effort and some time late last night I did some serious uploading to the download section and gallery.  I added 24 photos of our wedding taken by Matt and Colynda Lesieur and loaded them into the “Our Wedding (Guest Photos)” album.  Honore and I also went through the proof book and table camera photos and selected which photos will be scanned and uploaded.  I hope to have this complete this weekend, assuming the part for my scanner arrives tomorrow.

The major uploading was in the download section.  I added two new categories entitled “Our Wedding” and “Other Stuff”.  Modifying the original AVI files I exported six movies to Windows Video Format (WMV), three from Matt and Colynda’s wedding and three from my wedding.  Out of the six, two of them are in hi resolution… bigger but better.  The movies are…

  • Honore and my first dance (in hi and low resolution)
  • Honore's young niece Miranda dancing
  • Matt and Colynda's first dance (in hi and low resolution)
  • My best man's toast at Matt's wedding.
I doubt if I am going to extract any more, maybe the bouquet toss or the cake cutting, but space and bandwidth are getting up there and this site has really yet to explode; which I expect it will in the next few weeks thanks to the Christmas card inserts.
Calling all digital images!

Now that the gallery is finalized it is photo share time.  We are working on scanning our proof book which has a lot of great photos taken by our photographer.  That is going to take a while, but I will upload as I go.  Honore and I are currently adding inserts to all of our Christmas cards that state…
Photos of our wedding can be viewed at www.myspaceberg.com in the “Gallery” section.  If you have digital images of our wedding please email us at to make transfer arrangements with us so we can post them online.
If you have a lot digital photos PLEASE DO NOT send them over e-mail.  I am working on some methods to make transfer bulk photos now.  Just shoot me an e-mail and we will work it out.  Feel free to peruse the Gallery and add comments!  Any one can add comments but just remember that this website is rated PG-13.

Other aspects of the site are coming along as well.  I replaced the “static content” download page with the DocMan mambo module.  DocMan makes life a little easier and fine tunes some things… plus it just plain looks better.  Of course the PHP upload imitation is a pain, so some of it is just linked content to a directory I created.  The only “real” annoyance about linked content is that you don’t get the fancy icons nor stats such as file size, so I added that to the description.

I also, using the LoudMouth component, have posted a cool little forum.  The forum right now has sections for the general site and the gallery.  I am not sure how long this is going to last because no one may use it.  Who knows, it may be widely used... only time will tell.  To look to the left in the Login section of the menu or click here.
